When Dex Media asked us to design and brand a new app for iOS and Facebook, we jumped at the opportunity.

We were drawn to the larger mission of BuyLocal: to encourage consumers to shop at independent local retailers. This provides benefits on all levels — better customer experiences, stronger community bonds, and support for small business owners competing with big-box stores.

The challenge was to take a robust local business directory and make it feel approachable and easy-to-use. The results speak for themselves: the BuyLocal promotions were 5x more successful than comparable in-store promotions in local markets.
